Kudzu Basketmaking Workshop

with Native American Fiber Artist, Nancy Basket

Workshop is Over and it was fun!

Learn to use the most rampant of Southern vines to make baskets!  Nancy Basket, a fiber artist of Cherokee descent, will lead this exploration into the use of kudzu in weaving.  Nancy will discuss finding and collecting kudzu, then teach workshop participants to  process the vine to use in basketry.  Two different types of baskets will be taught; random weave, and coiled.  Bring hand pruner or garden clipper; and a table light if desired.  Bring lunch or buy it locally.
